Wolverine and the 25 greatest X-Men characters of all-time
By Mark Lynch
7. Rogue
Rogue was another person who benefitted from the X-Men animated series. Unlike Wolverine, Rogue could use her entire array of powers. We saw her fly at super speeds, drain people of their powers and memories, and flip a Sentinel with ease. Her southern voice and charm helped her popularity as well.
Like her love interest Gambit, she had a tragic past in both the comics and the cartoon. Being raised by Mystique caused her to do some things she still regrets. Thanks to the X-Men, she’s more than made up for her past. She’s one of the only two X-Men that have led a team of Avengers (Havok being the other). All of this and her signature white streak put her higher on this list than most.
Rogue was not represented well in any of the X-Men movies. Another reason why people didn’t enjoy the movies. How absurd is that Rogue never has a fight scene in any of the movies? This won’t happen going forward. When Rogue debuts in the MCU, we’re going to see her in all her glory. She’ll talk smack, go toe-to-toe with the strongest of opponents, and do it with a smile.
If you go to a comic book convention, I guarantee you’ll always see someone dressed up as Rogue. She’s that amazing. Rogue may not have been represented well in the movies, but she’ll always be a star in the comic books.
