Margot Robbie and 10 superhero actors you didn’t know were soap stars
9. Letitia Wright
Letitia Wright stole all of our hearts with her breakthrough performance in Black Panther. The younger sister of T’Challa, she was a prodigy when it came to technology, and was responsible for all of the major advancements to her brother’s suit. In a way, you could say she’s the one who created the modern day iteration of the Black Panther.
With a wicked personality and a fiery determination, it’s no surprise that Wright’s performance won fans over – and it’s even less of a surprise that she received the BAFTA Rising Star Award earlier this year.
However, while the Oscar-nominated movie was indeed her big break, the young actress had been working for quite some time before that, landing roles on Top Boy, Bananas and even Doctor Who. Her first TV role, however, came in 2011 when she appeared on the long-running BBC One medical drama Holby City.
Appearing for a two-episode arc, Wright portrayed the character of Ellie Maynard – a young patient who didn’t want to receive major heart surgery in spite of the fact that the odds were in her favor. And, as we’ve all seen with her performance as Shuri, determined characters come naturally to the talented actress.
