2. What if… Civil War?

This was the fight that split the Avengers right down the middle. Iron Man recruited Spider-Man to join him, along with Black Widow, War Machine, Vision, and Black Panther. They were up against Captain America’s team of Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Hawkeye, and Ant-Man. This ended with the Avengers breaking up. So when Thanos and the Black Order came to Earth, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes weren’t there to protect them. This ended with Thanos dusting fifty percent of the universe’s population. Now, imagine, if you will, what would have happened if this Civil War never happened.

There was a story like this in a What If comic book. The stakes were similar. With Tony and Steve not fighting, they were there to stop events like the death of Bill Foster and Secret Invasion from happening. In this case, it could have been Thanos and the Black Order’s arrival. With the Avengers intact, they may have been able to protect Vision from being killed and the Time Stone from being taken. Doctor Strange did see 14,000,005 worlds, but those may have been the ones with that scenario. However, there’s another option. With all of the Avengers in one place, Thanos may have killed them all at once, leaving no one left to reset the universe.
