The horror genre is an area Marvel Studios hasn’t but is capable of tapping into, and these 8 characters would fit perfectly into a scary movie.

A little over a year ago, The New Mutants debuted its first trailer. You could immediately tell that this was something different. The dark, empty hallway topped off with a slowed-down version of Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall gave the footage an ominous tone. As it continued, you could see this was going to be a horror flick. The jumpy scenes, faces coming through the wall, and evil hospital attendants helped show the dark tone. This would be the first scary movie in the comic book genre. Making this a new subsection of comic book movies could take things to another level.

Horror movies will never go out of style because people enjoy being scared. The best part about this particular genre is the number of subdivisions. There are movies like Friday the 13th that focus on the more violent kills and idiot victims. Nightmare on Elm Street is popular for being creative with its kills and having a comedic antagonist. There are also the psychological and supernatural thrillers. And that’s only a few of them. There are more classes than this.

It would be easy for Marvel Studios to make horror flicks. They have more than their fair share of frightening characters. Some of them have already been introduced. For example, Doctor Strange and Ghost Rider have made it to the big screen. Also, most of their villains are supernatural beings. The beings they fight have physical forms and powers that are straight out of nightmares. In fact, there’s even a villain named Nightmare. Here are some other Marvel Comics characters that fit the scary role perfectly.
