Series star Keith David admits in a recent interview that no one linked with Marvel’s New Warriors series knows when the series will air.

In April 2017New Warriors was picked up for a full 10-episode series with Squirrel Girl at the lead.

Two years later and there does not appear to be any indication on whether Marvel’s New Warriors is still in the works or whether the series will be on Freeform, a production partner that Marvel Television has developed a relationship with producing two seasons of Cloak & Dagger on the platform

Comicbook.com interviewed series star Keith David, and he remained tight-lipped about the series, but he did offer a bit of information about Marvel’s New Warriors:

"“In this business, one never knows,” the actor said of a potential New Warriors return. “I would hope that at some point it would come back. Everybody seemed to like it and loved the idea. Who knows why it hasn’t come to fruition yet.”The actor didn’t want to elaborate too much on the topic, though he says if the show ever materializes, he’d jump back in a heartbeat. “That’s something that I cannot answer,” the actor continues. “That’s not something I have any control or say in. But I would gladly be a part of it whenever, if ever it comes back.”"

David’s comments provide a small bit of optimism for those who hope to see the New Warriors on-screen with Milana Vayntrub as Squirrel Girl leading her own series. The main priority for Marvel Television is to find a home for the series as it was reported that Freeform will not be airing the series on their platform.

The Hollywood Reporter describes New Warriors:

"New Warriors is about six young people learning to cope with their abilities in a world where bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates. Joining Vayntrub and Theler are Jeremy Tardy as Night Thrasher, Calum Worthy as Speedball, Matthew Moy as Microbe and Kate Comer as Debrii."

Hulu seems to be the most logical choice for a home for New Warriors. The third season of Runaways is set to hit Hulu on Dec. 13. Ghost Rider and Helstrom are scheduled for 2020 releases on Hulu as well.

Disney Plus is now an option, but Marvel Television appears to exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there has not been any crossover, especially with Agents of SHIELD, so it is unlikely that New Warriors will be on Disney Plus as to not create any confusion on potential crossovers with the movie universe.
