Rumor: Young Avengers limited series could drop on Disney Plus
A younger team of superheroes that will succeed the original Avengers may find its way to Disney Plus.
Daniel Richtman, a writer and infamous social-media scooper of Hollywood films and TV news, has reported that a Young Avengers limited series is currently in development for Disney Plus.
While there had been previous reports of a Young Avengers film hitting the silver screen, there has been more speculation about the younger, offshoot superhero team being rolled into the MCU. Richtman dropped the story via Full Circle Cinema.
Young Avengers, for all intents and purposes, are teenage successors to the original Avengers team. Notable members of this second generation response team were Eli Bradley/Patriot, Nathaniel Richards/Iron Lad, Teddy Altman/Hulkling and William Kaplan/Wiccan.
Other teammates include Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye, who will reportedly be played by Hailee Steinfeld in the limited Disney Plus series of the same name, and Cassandra “Cassie” Lang/Stature, who was played as a teenager by Emma Fuhrman in Avengers: Endgame.

Following the fallout of the storyline “Avengers Disassembled”, which saw almost the entire roster of the main Avengers either in exile or perish due to the actions of Scarlet Witch (which led to the “House of M” event), Jessica Jones, Captain America and Iron-Man investigate a new group of young heroes led by Iron-Lad. He was later revealed to be the young “Nate” Richards before he became the sinister Kang the Conqueror.
Although this is marked as a rumor, Richtman is known for breaking solid, newsworthy scoops months before they are confirmed by a reputable media outlet. Although, things could change within the story, such as the property turning out to be a film project as opposed to a television series.
Given the number of series that are part of MCU Phase Four, like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki, a youthful team of Avengers on the small screen would be refreshing.
