Batwoman finally takes flight and squares off  against the unhinged Alice in the impressive new trailer for the upcoming CW series.

Batwoman is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated TV shows of the year. The series will become the fifth live-action Arrowverse show (following in the footsteps of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) and will focus on the adventures of Kate Kane, as she seeks to fight injustice on the streets of Gotham City.

A hardened and experienced street fighter who is sick of the city’s crime-filled status quo (a direct result of Batman’s three-year absence), Kate takes it upon herself to become the city’s protector – donning her cousin’s attire to become the hero Gotham needs: Batwoman.

With all the anticipation going into the show, The CW has released another brand new trailer to get fans even more excited. This one’s titled “Worth Saving” and it’s pretty amazing. Check it out below:

While all of the Batwoman trailers have been intirguing in their own way, the thing that sets this one apart from the rest is how much it says in such a short space of time.

The original, full-length trailer, received instant backlash from fans due to its questionable character logic and forced dialogue – and, quite frankly, this impacted the buzz surrounding the show. While a number of recent trailers have served the show much better than the original one ever did, they were quite light in terms of new footage.

More from Arrowverse

This latest one, however, is nothing short of a triumph. Using its limited time wisely, it unveils a ton of new footage from the show (or at the very least, new angles of scenes we’ve already had a glimpse of before). And that was undoubtedly a great idea.

Not only do we get the chance to see more of the wonderful love story between Ruby Rose’s Kate and Meagan Tandy’s Sophie Moore – a love story that will definitely factor into the plot of the pilot – we are also gifted with some new footage of Kate in the prototype Batwoman suit, as she battles Alice and even jumps off a building to save Sophie.

In 20 seconds, we know that Sophie’s kidnapping will be the deciding factor that drives Kate to become Batwoman and that the pilot episode will inevitably end with a Dark Knight-like showdown atop a skyscraper. And the trailer was worth it alone for that incredibly impressive and well-executed jump.
