2. Meet The MCU’s Peter Parker
We were introduced to the MCU’s Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War. There comes a point when both Steve Rogers and Tony Stark suggest that they may need more help for the upcoming battle. While Falcon heads to find Ant-Man, Stark heads for Queens.
It’s here that we get our first look at the home life of Peter Parker. He’s clearly been scavenging for some circuit boards from old DVD players when he returns and tells Aunt May that there’s a crazy car outside. Then he looks up and sees Stark sitting on his couch talking to his aunt. After giving May a vague reason, Stark and Peter go into his room to talk.
It’s here that we get our first opportunity to see what makes this particular version of Peter Parker tick. Stark first asks if the man catching the bus in the blue and red costume is Peter and then finds the costume. He then asks Peter why he does what he does and it’s the answer to this question that confirms that this is Peter Parker. Without saying the exact quote, Peter tells Stark that “with great power, there must also come, great responsibility” and instantly, the values of Spider-Man are established.
