1. If This Be My Destiny…

Of course, the number one is this moment. A moment ripped straight from the pages of the comics and based off the iconic Amazing Spider-Man #31. After a battle with Doctor Octopus, the web-slinger becomes trapped under heavy machinery in a flooding room and it seems that all is lost. However, in a moment of pure strength and determination, he manages to get himself free.

This iconic moment is recreated in the MCU when the Vulture traps Peter under the rubble of his base. After a moment of doubt, the young hero remembers words from Iron Man that encourage him to summon all of his strength. He thinks of his friends and family and is somehow able to free himself from under the rubble.

This is one of the most iconic moments in Spider-Man comics and it’s perfectly recreated in the MCU. The desperation in Holland’s voice when he shouts for help, coupled with the anguish on his face when all seems lost make this a truly remarkable scene. The fact that it recreates one of the most quintessential Spider-Man moments from the comics is purely a bonus.

It’s not only Tom Holland’s greatest moment as Spider-Man in the MCU, but it’s also possibly the greatest Spider-Man moment on the big screen to date.
