MCU: Ranking Tom Holland’s 10 best Spider-Man moments

7. The Vulture Twist
One of the key themes of Spider-Man: Homecoming was Peter’s infatuation with Liz. As often happens with Spider-Man stories, his personal life ends up playing a huge part in his superhero life and this one came as quite a shock. When Liz was cast, many assumed she was an adaptation of Liz Allen, one of the staples of Peter Parker’s supporting cast for many years. But this Liz was something entirely different.
After the Washington Monument incident, Peter and his classmates returned to school. However, Peter was upset because Tony Stark had taken his new suit away from him, so he decided the best thing to do was to concentrate on being a kid again. He knuckled down at school and eventually bumped into Liz in the corridor. The two began discussing Homecoming and Peter summoned the courage to ask her to the dance. She agreed and Peter went home and prepared.
When he arrived at Liz’s house he was stunned. The door opened and revealed that Liz’s father was, in fact, Adrian Toomes — the Vulture. This brought a terrified reaction from Peter as he sheepishly introduced himself and met with Liz. Then, as they arrived at the dance, Toomes threatened Peter and told him not to interfere with his plans. Of course, Peter didn’t listen and ended up defeating him.
