4. Ned Finds Out

One of the best additions to Peter Parker’s supporting cast in the MCU is his best friend, Ned. The two share a true friendship and will always have each other’s back. That’s why it’s fitting that Ned is the first character (outside of the Avengers) to discover Peter’s secret identity.

After a night of helping out around the neighborhood, Spider-Man returns home and sneaks in through his window. Carefully, he crawls along the ceiling and shuts his bedroom door to prevent his Aunt May from discovering the truth. Once the door is shut, he lowers himself to the floor… then turns around to discover his best friend sitting on his bed.

Even though the evidence was there for all to see, Peter, of course, tries to deny his identity. Ned calls him out by pointing out that he was on the ceiling and Peter realizes that he’s been rumbled. He then tells his friend the truth.

Jacob Batalon plays this scene fantastically. At first, the shock on his face is clear after seeing his best friend crawl along the ceiling wearing the Spider-Man costume. Then, the excitement as he realizes that he’s the only one who knows this secret is palpable. It’s from here on that Ned begins to ask Peter a slew of questions about his powers.
