2. Nemesis

Nathan Fillion has a lot of range when it comes to playing different kinds of roles. He does not get many opportunities to do so, and more often than not, he’s playing a heightened version of himself. A master of disguise like Nemesis would give Fillion a lot to chew on.

Nemesis (a.k.a. Tom Tresser) is the sole survivor of his family after a tragic incident involving his brother Craig and a family friend Ben Marshall. He becomes the vigilante Nemesis to execute his brand of justice in honor of his friend. He also has a small relationship with another vigilante hero in Batman as well.

Nemesis is another potential anti-hero character for Fillion to play – something that may benefit him as it would undoubtedly be hard for many to see him as a pure villain. The character also has a close relationship with Rick Flag, as well as a hatred for Amanda Waller.

In the comics, Nemesis joins the Suicide Squad out of obligation – feeling as though he was indebted to them. He served as one of its few non-criminal members using his covert tactics and disguises to help them on their missions. James Gunn could easily write in Nemesis as a friend of Flag who is called in as a favor.

It is not known how prominent of a role Fillion will play in The Suicide Squad so Nemesis would be a good role for him since he can be both a character in the front lines or a supporting character that serves as a backup to the main cast.
