The Suicide Squad: 5 characters Nathan Fillion could play

1. Captain Cold

Wentworth Miller did a fantastic job playing Leonard Snart/Captain Cold in the Arrowverse. It was undoubtedly a case of perfect casting as Miller brought Snart’s villainous nature to life exceptionally while also playing him as a man with high morals. And following his guest-run on The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow gave him an opportunity to expand on the role even more, cementing him as one of the Arrowverse’s most beloved characters.

Stepping into those shoes would be hard for any actor, but Fillion could be the man for the job. James Gunn is an avid comic-book fan and also someone who is very good at thinking outside of the box. He found a way to incorporate the Guardians of the Galaxy into the modern age and into the MCU. The Arrowverse’s Captain Cold was also brought into the modern age in a very smart way as well, but Gunn could offer something different for the character.

Fillion can also bring something different for the character as well since he and Miller are very different kinds of actors. It is nearly guaranteed that fans would get a very different interpretation of the Captain Cold character from Fillion – which would only be a positive thing as fans wouldn’t want anyone to try and mimic the Arrowverse’s version of the character.

The Suicide Squad could be an isolated adventure that does not feature many tie-ins to past movies or directly reference any hints for future DCEU movies, but it could be used to introduce The Rogues for the upcoming The Flash movie. Captain Boomerang is already in the movie so a partnership could be established or strengthened – one that can be used in a future movie.
