11. Brie Larson and Chris Evans
If you’ve ever seen Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, you might’ve spotted Captain America himself, Chris Evans, in a villainous role, and the future Captain Marvel, Brie Larson, who played the title character’s ex-girlfriend. As odd as that might seem to MCU fans, the film didn’t do well at the box office but has since become a cult classic.
12. Jon Favreau and Donald Glover
Jon Favreau isn’t just an actor. He’s a great filmmaker, too. But few people who don’t follow Disney’s live-action films might know that he worked with Spider Man: Homecoming actor Donald Glover.
While they don’t appear in the same MCU film, they worked together on The Lion King where Favreau was the director, and Glover played the lead character, Simba as an adult. Glover played Aaron Davis, the criminal uncle of Miles Morales.
13. Bobby Cannavale and Paul Rudd
They’re always at each other’s throats in the Ant-Man films, as they’ve both romanced Maggie Lang, but did you know Bobby Cannavale and Paul Rudd are actually BFFs in real life?
The actors worked together on the film The Ten, and it was Rudd who convinced Cannavale to take the role of Jim Paxton, Maggie’s fiancée in the first Ant-Man. Rudd and Cannavale later worked together on The Fundamentals of Caring.
14. Scarlett Johansson and Jon Favreau
Scarlett Johansson and Jon Favreau haven’t just worked in the MCU together as Black Widow and Happy Hogan, but they’ve worked together on a Disney movie too. Favreau directed Johansson in his live-action version of The Jungle Book where she plays the snake, Kaa. She also sings in the movie. He probably had a positive experience working with her in Iron Man 2 that he chose to cast her. And before The Jungle Book, Johansson also reteamed with Favreau for his 2014 indie film, Chef.
15. Paul Bettany, Jennifer Connelly, and Stellan Skarsgård
You might be thinking, “what do Vision, the AI known as Karen and Erik Selvig have in common?”. Paul Bettany and Stellan Skarsgård have been good friends for years, having worked together on (Kiss Kiss) Bang Bang and Dogville. Through Bettany, Skarsgård became good friends with Jennifer Connelly, Paul’s wife.
While they all appear in different MCU projects, Connelly has been referenced to as J.A.R.V.I.S’ spouse because she’s Bettany’s wife and because she voices Karen, the AI inside Peter Parker’s Spider-Man suit in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Also, the couple named their son, Stellan after Skarsgård.
