7. Wonder Woman and Cheetah

When Warner Bros announced the inevitable Wonder Woman sequel; the villain that came to mind was Cheetah. After all, she’s had her claws latched onto the role as the top Wonder Woman villain since her debut in 1943.

There are many variations of who Cheetah (original introduced as Priscilla Rich) is, but one thing is for certain: she hates Diana (Wonder Woman). In her DC Comics intro, her jealousy forced her to unsuccessfully frame Diana for a crime she didn’t commit.

At one point in Wonder Woman Rebirth, Cheetah was a tortured individual struggling with her primal edge. This created an empathetic dynamic between Cheetah and Diana.

Still, it didn’t stop this heavy hitting rivalry with Cheetah looking to take out Diana any chance she got, such as the time she tried to kill Diana and their mutual friend, Courtley via suffocation by forcing them into a bin of wheat. Yeah, that really happened, just check out Wonder Woman Issue Volume 1. Issue No. 6.

You know it’s serious when Cheetah teams with Poison Ivy and Cheshire to beat down Diana. Still, nothing tops Wonder Woman, Volume 3. The story that shows both women pushing one another to the limit.

Wonder Woman admits that Cheetah is her most cunning and manipulative nemesis. For over half a century these women squared off against one another and their rivalry doesn’t appear to slow down anytime soon.
