NYCC 2019: Harley Quinn animated series premiere date revealed
The mature Harley Quinn series is coming to the DC Universe and at New York Comic-Con, the premiere date was finally unveiled!
DC’s exclusive streaming service, the DC Universe, has been around for over a year now. While shows like Titans, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing and the long-awaited new season of Young Justice (Outsiders) have all arrived on it since, one more show is set to make its presence felt before the end of the year… and it’s coming sooner than you think!
That’s right, joining those other shows will be Harley Quinn – a rather “out there” and surprisingly mature animated series centred on, you guessed it, Harley Quinn. With Kaley Cuoco providing the voice of our favorite mallet-wielding jester, the series is not one for the kids, as its tongue-in-cheek maturity results in it being rather violent with explicit language.
After the trailer was released at San Diego Comic-Con during the summer, it was pretty clear that the premiere wouldn’t be too far off. And now we know, as Executive Producers Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker exclusively revealed at New York Comic-Con that the show would premiere on November 29.
It seems that the world just can’t get enough of Harley Quinn these days, what with Margot Robbie’s DCEU version returning to the big screen to headline next year’s Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn) before returning for Suicide Squad sequel, The Suicide Squad.
More from DC Universe
- James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy casts more major DC characters
- New Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer pushes Arthur to his limits
- 7 actors who could replace Ezra Miller as The Flash in the DC Universe
- Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have a battle pass (and that’s a bad sign)
- Harley Quinn renewed for a fifth season on Max (and it’s well-deserved)
She also headlined her own DC Animated Universe-inspired adventure back in 2017 when she teamed with The Dark Knight and Nightwing to stop Posion Ivy and Floronic Man in Batman & Harley Quinn.
It goes without saying that we’re excited to see her headline her own animated series as well, and can’t wait to see what she, The Joker and even Batman all get up to in the adult-comedy.
Even though the trailer was pretty “out there” it’s probably safe to assume that we haven’t seen anything yet.
Harley Quinn premieres on the DC Universe on Friday, Nov. 29. Are you excited to finally see the mature series? Do you think it will live up to expectations? Let us know in the comments below!
