3. We’re Getting Another Moody Harrison Wells

The Flash sure loves going through its selection of Harrison Wells like there’s no tomorrow.

In Season 1, we had the diabolical Reverse-Flash inhabiting the body of the Earth-1 Professor Harrison Wells. Following that, a moodier but good-hearted Wells, Harry, showed up from Earth-2. Season 3 brought with it Earth-19’s less-genius-more-lovable H.R. Wells, while The Thinker’s reign of terror prompted Team Flash to reach out to Harry for Season 4.

Season 5 gave us a double dose of Wells, as the team needed Earth-221’s “Master Detective” Sherloque Wells to investigate the mystery of Cicada – a trail which eventually led him to the mastermind behind it all: Reverse-Flash.

So, yeah, that’s a lot of Wells – and that’s not even counting the cameo appearances from Wolfgang Wells and that silent monster from a dead earth.

And with Reverse-Flash on the loose, Harry happily choosing heart over intellect on Earth-2, H.R. gone but not forgotten and Sherloque finding happiness with Renee Adler, the team needs a new one.

The trailer gave us an introduction to this new futuristic Indiana Jones-like daredevil who swoops in on a zipline and wastes no time grabbing Cisco by the throat. As our favorite S.T.A.R. Labs nerd says “Oh great! Another angry one!””.

So just who is this new Wells, and where does he come from? Whatever the answers to those questions are, you can rest assured that Tom Cavanagh will be ready to impress us one more time.
