2. Will Kate Win Sophie Back?

Kate Kane may not be one for showing her emotions, but one character that could make her do just that was Sophie Moore. Her old flame from The Academy who ended things when she denied her homosexuality, Sophie went on to become part of Jacob Kane’s Crows security force.

However, Kate’s return to the city quickly resulted in a chemistry-filled moment between the pair, clearly reminding them both what things were once like for them. That is, until Sophie’s husband showed up.

With Sophie now happily married, we have to wonder if things really are over for the pair or if Gotham’s newest protector is intent on winning back her old flame’s heart.

1. Is Alice Really Beth?

The show threw a real curveball in its closing moments when it alluded to the fact that the Big Bad herself, Alice, was actually Kate’s sister Beth.

The siblings and their mother were involved in an apparent car accident when they were younger and, following Batman’s intervention, Kate was able to escape. Unfortunately, a little misjudging on The Dark Knight’s part resulted in the old car hurtling off the bridge before Beth and her mother could get out.

Neither Batman nor the police were able to locate Beth’s body and, upon revealing that information, the show cut to Alice – highlighting that she had a ruby exactly like Kate’s… suggesting that Beth never died and that, somehow, someway, she had evolved into the villain.

While this does appear to be following the pair’s comic book history to a tee, we do have to wonder if there’s a twist in store for us. After all, it revealed the information (to both us and Kate) very quickly.

Is there more to this story than meets the eye?
