Noteworthy TV actor and voice-over artist, Peter MacNeil, has been revealed to be Lionel Luthor on Titans.

With Conner Kent (Joshua Orpin) about to make his live-action debut on the sophomore season of Titans (with Krypto the Super-Dog not far behind) in his self-titled episode – things are heating up on the DC Universe TV series.

However, the teenage boy in the black tee isn’t the only iconic DC character coming to the show, as it has been revealed that Peter MacNeil has been cast as Lionel Luthor on the show.

Esteemed Star Trek: Discovery star, MacNeil, has been revealed to be the father of Lex Luthor in the synopsis of episode 6 unveiled by Spoiler TV (reported by Full Circle.) Set to guest star on “Conner”, it seems Lionel Luthor has ties to the creation of the Superboy, Kon-El, who escaped Cadmus Labs towards the end of last season.

Several months back, a reported casting call revealed that the show were casting a character with the codename “Dax”, with rumors suggesting that this was actually a major Superman villain in disguise. Could MacNeil possibly be playing this carefully hidden role? Maybe changes such as age-swapping had been made to accommodate the role? Or could MacNeil’s Luthor Snr. be the recurring villain set-up for someone like Lex Luthor or Maxwell Lord?

The award-winning actor from Canada, MacNeil has demonstrated his theatrical skill on numerous projects on film and TV from Queer as Folk to Star Wars: Droids to The Eleventh Hour and the U.S.-Canadian Saturn Award–winning comedy-drama, Good Witch.

The two-time Gemini award winner has also been involved in accredited films like Crash, Open Range and A History of Violence. No stranger to streaming services, MacNeil appeared in an episode of Star Trek: Discovery as Baron Grimes.

Lionel Luthor first appeared in Superman comics in 1961, created by Jerry Siegel and Kurt Schaffenberger and had been sometimes depicted under different names and other occupations (not a businessman) and was more an abusive alcoholic, but most commonly is referred to as Lionel.

However, he’s best known for his long-running stint in The CW’s Smallville, in which he was played by John Glover. Lionel was an enemy of Clark Kent before he went to the light side. His Earth-2 counterpart brought Lex back from the dead.
