Crisis: The first look at the Anti-Monitor in Arrowverse has been revealed
By Scott Brown
Crisis on Infinite Earths is on its way and now the first look at the destroyer of the multiverse is here. Spoilers for The Flash and Arrow follow.
In an exclusive from Entertainment Weekly, the first official picture of the Anti-Monitor has been unveiled.
Like the Monitor, the Anti-Monitor will be played by LaMonica Garrett. Forgoing the classic look of the character, as introduced during Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985, it appears that this version of the Anti-Monitor is based on the version of the character that appeared in “The Darkseid War.”
While the Anti-Monitor hasn’t appeared yet in the Arrowverse, his presence is already being felt in both Arrow and The Flash.
During the latest episode of The Flash, Barry attempted to get a glimpse of the upcoming Crisis. By doing so, he saw the destruction of everything he loves and, what is assumed to be the multiverse. And in the final season premiere of Arrow, during the final moments of the episode, Earth-2 was destroyed by a wave of anti-matter, with a look straight out of the comics.
The Anti-Monitor is already a looming presence over the Arrowverse even though he probably won’t appear until the crossover starts.

Making his first full appearance in Crisis on Infinite Earths No. 6, the Anti-Monitor has been a consistent presence in the DC universe since. In Crisis on Infinite Earths, he destroyed the multiverse, which created the modern Earth that many DC Comics fans grew up with.
He continued to pop up in various events over the years, whether it be his shell in Infinite Crisis, as a member of the Sinestro Corps in The Sinestro Corps War, or even as the power generator for the black lantern power battery in Blackest Night. The Anti-Monitor even appeared in the short-lived, but great, show, Green Lantern: The Animated Series.
With the Anti-Matter already looming over the Arrowverse, this year’s shows already feel drastically different than everything that has come previously. There’s a true menace to the evil involved and the stakes are already high. And now with out first look at the Anti-Monitor, we see something that feels like it could be the death of the multiverse.
Crisis on Infinite Earths begins with a special episode of Supergirl on Sunday Dec. 8th, followed Batwoman and The Flash on the 9th and 10th before going on hiatus. It will end on Jan. 14th with back-to-back episodes of Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.
