A Superman & Lois TV series is currently in development for The CW Network, starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch.

Superman & Lois television series is currently in development for The CW. TVLine made the official report, revealing that Warner Bros. Television is behind the show starring Supergirl‘s Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, respectively.

This has come as an interesting surprise considering both Superman (Hoechlin) and Lois (Tulloch) will appear in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. The last time they appeared was on the Elseworlds crossover event last year and towards the end, it was revealed that Lois is pregnant with Superman’s child.

With Arrow currently airing its eighth and final season on The CW, it is quite clear there is a bit of reshuffling going on with the slate for DC TV. Batwoman has gone off to a rocky start in ratings despite mostly positive reviews from critics and Green Arrow and the Canaries is in production.

Legends of Tomorrow, which is set to air its fifth season in January 2020 is set to also be part of the five-part crossover, but fans are wondering if this will be the show’s final offering, with many believing that the whole slate is in need of a long-term replacement that can be a mainstay like Arrow and The Flash.

There are not that many details about Superman & Lois, since its early phase, but TVLine did inform readers of its general premise of the show. So what is the show about? A rehash of Lois & Clark? A standard Supergirl spin-off? TVLine stated it will follow: “the world’s most famous Super Hero and comic books’ most famous journalist [as they] deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.”

So this means we could be seeing Jonathan Kent, the current Superboy, from The New 52 in DC Comics. Todd Helbing, former showrunner of The Flash, will be writing the series as well as serving executive producer duties beside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns.
