5. Dr. Strange meets the Ancient One

Movie: Doctor Strange (2016)

Stephen Strange poured all of his money into fixing his hands. He became so desperate that he tried a mystical solution, and that journey led him to the Ancient One. After Strange was his normal dismissive and arrogant self, the Ancient One placed a thumb on his forehead (where his third eye would be) and sent his spirit flying. He screamed in terror as he was transported against his will to places he didn’t know existed

Can you imagine having that happen to you out of nowhere? One minute you’re drinking tea and the next you’re having a terrifying out of body experience. Seeing things that you didn’t know were possible all while your body is being torn apart and reformed. Thinking of it now, it’s shocking that this isn’t a Disney World attraction.

4. Like a puppet

Movie: Dark Phoenix (2019)

There were a lot of missed opportunities in Dark Phoenix, but Sophie Turner wasn’t one of them. As Jean Grey, she was easily the best part of the movie. A scene that hit this point home was when she was controlling Xavier’s legs. Jean used her telekinesis to control his legs and make him “walk” to her.

The most powerful telepath in the world was being worked like a puppet by one of his students. He was helpless to stop her and he knew it. You could look at Xavier and tell he was more frightened than he’d ever been. He had no idea what was going to happen next. All Xavier knew was that he was at her mercy. Jean may not have killed him, but the damage has been done. He would never forget what she did. Xavier probably had nightmares about that moment for years.
