6. 14 Million to 1 odds

Movie: Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Thanos was finally making the big push for the Infinity Stones. He was no longer letting his lackeys do the work. Joined by the Black Order, Thanks set out to change the universe and it looked like there was no stopping him.

He defeated the Hulk with ease. The Black Order seemed unbeatable. And he had an army of creatures willing to die for him. After being saved by Spider-Man and Iron Man — and later joined by some of the Guardians of the Galaxy — Doctor Strange meditated. He visited 14 million timelines and found only one where they’re victorious. This was the beginning of the end.

If Doctor Strange hadn’t visited these realities, Thanos would have won. There was a moment in Avengers: Endgame where Doctor Strange looks over at Tony and he put up one finger. It let Tony know that this was the moment they’d been waiting for. This was the only way to beat the Mad titan.

Doctor Strange visiting those realities was one of the three things that had to happen in order for the heroes to win (the other two will come up later). They start with Stephen Strange finding out what needed to be done to win. He deserves a lot of respect for giving up the Time Stone. He had faith in his peers and it paid off.
