In this week’s episode of Arrow, Oliver meets his adult son and daughter for the first time, but how does he and Team Arrow process their arrival?

Arrow‘s eighth season has been quite the whirlwind, hasn’t it? We’re only three episodes into it and it hasn’t held back at all, dosing us with heartbreak, awe, shock and, more than anything, nostalgia.

However, while Oliver has been busy attempting to figure out how to stop the Crisis that’s coming, his children have been dealing with their very own Crisis in the future. That’s right, William Clayton and Mia Smoak teamed with John Diggle’s adopted son (and Bronze Tiger’s actual son) Connor Hawke and Rene Ramirez’s daughter Zoe as they attempted to stop the Deathstroke gang from destroying Star City.

But the appropriately titled “Present Tense” will take things back to the present, bringing both storylines together. The episode will immediately pick up where last week’s installment left off, as Oliver Queen will be confronted by his time-travelling children William and Mia. The question is: How will he react to their arrival?

Check out the episode’s trailer below:

In the space of three episodes, Oliver has reminded us on multiple occasions how he desperately misses his family – constantly looking at the photo of Felicity and Mia. But he never expected to be confronted by adult versions of them shortly afterwards. With that, fans should be prepared to experience a range of emotions from Oliver, starting with disbelief.

But how will the others react to Mia’s existence? Diggle and Laurel Lance were the only two who actually knew of baby Mia in the present and now Oliver is going to have to explain her arrival to Dinah Drake, Rene Ramirez and the returning Curtis Holt.

On the other hand, Mia, William and Connor certainly weren’t expecting to meet the younger versions of their respective parents, so how will they react to this jaw-dropper? And how will they explain to Diggle and Rene that the former’s biological son (JJ) just killed the latter’s daughter?

With the Deathstroke gang now in the present, Team Arrow (officially joined by Earth-2 Black Canary Laurel) will team up with Team Arrow: Next Gen to stop them.

"When a mysterious new Deathstroke appears in Star City, Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow insist on taking down this villain themselves. Meanwhile reeling from the loss of one of their own, the future Team Arrow figures out a new way to try and stop JJ."
