Black Lightning season 3: What we know about the characters
By Mark Lynch
Jennifer/Thunder
In the first season of Black Lightning, Jennifer was an annoying, bratty teenager. In season two, she became the best character on the show. She took a giant leap in maturity and became a focal point of the series, with her having the A-story. This season is no different. Jennifer is still dealing with being a teenager and not knowing what’s next. She’s been conflicted on how to feel about the A.S.A. One moment she’s nonchalant and just dealing with. But then she saw one of her classmates get dragged out of class by the A.S.A, and Jennifer began to see just what they’re capable of. Next, she’s flying in space in space after a conversation with Agent Odell.
Jennifer will be dealing with a lot in the coming episodes. Like Anissa, she is going to have a confrontation with her father at some point, especially if she believes in what Agent Odell is doing. Second, and most importantly, there’s Khalil. Odell brainwashed him made him kill his own mother. Odell told Jennifer it was the Markovians who killed her to get her on a mission. When Jennifer finds this out the truth, she’s going to lose it. And when she confronts Khalil, will Khalil remember Jennifer or will he try to kill his former love?
