Black Lightning season 3: What we know about the characters
By Mark Lynch
Khalil/Painkiller
Khalil was the worst character on this show. He had zero redeeming qualities. Even his action scenes were bad. He didn’t want to fight. While it was supposed to make him more likable, it Just ended up making him look weak. When Tobias ripped out his spine, it seemed like we were spared from seeing him anymore. Well, Khalil is back and with a new and definitely improved attitude.

Khalil was resurrected by the A.S.A. and had his memory erased. When he came back, he trained and mastered multiple martial arts and learned dozens of ways to kill people. Anyone can be a killer. Khalil is now a cynical wise-@$$ who’s embraced his new personality. This darker tone fits him well. He’s now adding more to the show than just being Jennifer’s love interest.
The more of Khalil we see, the better he becomes. Who would have thought the actor (Jordan Calloway) would be this good? When he and Jennifer finally meet again, it’s going to be the most anticipated moment of the season. So much is riding on what happens after that. Will love bring back his old memories? Will he end up fighting Black Lightning, Black Bird, and Lightning? Will Agent Odell terminate him if he does betray him?
