7. Lyla Michaels

Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson) and Diggle have a great love story. Ms. Michaels was introduced to the Arrowverse in season one as John Diggle’s ex-wife. The two met while serving in Afghanistan, married then divorced before remarrying again. Lyla took over ARGUS after Amanda Waller’s death and low-key joined team Arrow. As hardcore fans of DC Comics know, this isn’t the Lyla they know best.

In the comics, Lyla Michaels is known as the hero Harbinger. She isn’t associated with ARGUS or John Diggle; in fact, the man she’s closest to in the comics is, The Monitor as he raised her as his right hand. In the Arrowverse, Lyla is working alongside The Monitor in secret, and she doesn’t have the cosmic superpowers her comic book counterpart has, yet.

We got a taste of Anderson’s Harbinger recruiting the Legends to help with the Crisis. Though it’s still unclear if this a doppelgänger or Earth-1’s Lyla.

The writers could opt to take that sacrifice to the next level with Arrow coming to an end. If Diggle’s wife died, it would also help explain why John Diggle junior became evil. Lyla’s death could leave a void in the Diggle family where John is a single father to two boys.
