4. Tom Holland as Spider-Man/Peter Parker
Superhero Movies: Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame
Tobey Maguire was an incredible Peter Parker and a so-so Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield was an Amazing Spider-Man (rim-shot) and a decent Peter Parker. Tom Holland knocked both roles out of the park.
In Captain America: Civil War, we got a sample size. Holland was timid around Tony Stark outside of his uniform (like he is in the comic books). When he put the Spider-Man costume on, he was confident, annoying, and smart (again, like he is in the comics). There was no adjusting the character for Holland. It was like Holland knew how to play the role and just did it.
"“Oh and I helped this old lady and she bought me a churro so…yeah, that was nice.” -Spider-Man"
Tom Holland got better every time he played Peter Parker. In Spider-Man: Far From Home he took things to new heights. It was like watching a comic book character come to life. Holland had to hide his secret identity, be a hero, stop a missile from hitting his bus, all while attempting to stop Mysterio.
Doing all of this would exhaust anyone physically and emotionally. Holland acted like it did as well. Always selling his injuries and fatigue. Things like this are appreciated. It reminds us that he did go through a battle and is hurting. Ten years from now, Tom Holland will be at the number one spot.
