Supergirl: Who died in Crisis On Infinite Earths, Part One?
The long-awaited Arrowverse crossover Crisis On Infinite Earths has arrived, but it came with a cost for the heroes. Who died in the very first installment of it? (Spoilers will follow)
The Arrowverse has spent years planning for its heavily-anticipated five-part crossover Crisis On Infinite Earths, and it’s safe to say that the first part was worth the wait.
It all kicked off on this week’s episode of Supergirl (Season 5, episode 9) in an adventure which saw The Monitor‘s prophecy come to pass. Yes, after the destruction of multiple earths, the antimatter wave came for Earth-38 and, as a result, Harbinger/Lyla Michaels decided to bring a select few of the Arrowverse’s heroes there to battle it.
Naturally, such a cataclysmic event brought major death with it and, in doing so, resulted in one of the most shocking Arrowverse deaths of all time.
With that in mind, here’s who died in “Crisis On Infinite Earths, Part 1”.
Oliver Queen/Green Arrow
It goes without saying that the most shocking of all deaths was Oliver Queen. Outnumbered and outgunned, the Green Arrow refused to give up fighting until he saved as many lives on Earth-38 as possible, even slowing The Monitor down so he couldn’t save him. In the end, he succumbed to an army of Shadow Demons – but not before The Monitor brought him to Earth-1 so that he could bid farewell to some of his loved ones.

We knew Oliver (played by Stephen Amell) was set to sacrifice himself in the Crisis (due to the fact that Arrow is ending and that the character agreed to lay down his own life for the Crisis), but to lose him so early on is a shock to say the least.
Could this simply be a red herring, or is the Emerald Archer’s story already over? We’ll find out as the Crisis continues.
Alura Zor-El (And all of Argo)
The antimatter wave’s first target was Argo City – which it hit on its way to Earth. Although Harbinger successfully managed to get Superman and Lois to safety, the rest of the planet perished and, with it, Kara’s mother Alura Zor-El (played by Smallville legend Erica Durance) was among the fatalities.
4.53 billion people on Earth-38
In spite of the heroes’ best efforts, they were unable to save over half of the people on Earth-38, as the wave of antimatter wiped the universe from existence in a 24-hour period. According to The Monitor, of the 7.53 billion on Earth-38, only 3 billion made it to safety – 1 billion of which was down to Oliver’s sacrifice.
Crisis On Infinite Earths continues tonight with Batwoman season 1, episode 9 (“Crisis On Infinite Earths, Part Two”). Who else do you think will be claimed by the Crisis? Let us know in the comments below!
