9. Jabba the Hutt

How could one of the most notorious gangsters in the galaxy not be considered a villain? Smuggling, slavery, murder, Jabba traffics in all of that and is a consistent and notorious presence within the galaxy. Not only that but, when he combines his powers with the many Hutt family members across the galaxy, he’s nearly unstoppable. Everyone fears the Hutt.

How could a slug that barely moves be so intimidating though? Well, it’s the fact that he garners respect from other characters that we fear. Whether it’s Boba Fett or Han Solo, Jabba has their fear and respect, which means viewers should as well. Therefore, whenever Jabba is on screen, the respect that others have for him is then transported to the audience.

If none of that makes Jabba intimidating to you, then the fact that he’s willing to use a Sarlacc pit as an execution method should. Seriously, having your enemies digested for a thousand years? That’s just brutal in a way that other villains in Star Wars simply aren’t willing to be. Sure, the others kill, and they kill a lot, even torture, but they don’t torture in such a brutal, agonizing way. Basically, Jabba’s willingness to use the Sarlacc pit puts him on this list.
