6. Grand Moff Tarkin

Very few Imperial officers command the screen as Grand Moff Tarkin does. Whenever he’s present, he demands the attention of both the crew he’s working with, as well as the audience. Calm and haunting, there’s an unsettling cadence to the way he speaks that no other Imperial officer is able to match. Pretty much all of his emotion is vacant, from his eyes to when he talks.

This is very unsurprising, as he is very slow to anger, with the only person to truly anger him is Director Krennic. Tarkin gets the last laugh though, as he steals the Death Star project from underneath Krennic, while also making him the first casualty of the Death Star at the Battle of Scarif. It was rare for Tarkin, but he more than likely felt some sadistic glee in killing Krennic in the way that he did.

But the scariest part about Tarkin is his complete emotional detachment from most situations he’s in. He orders the Death Star to destroy with no emotion, knowing full well the countless lives that will be lost. He’s probably the most powerful sociopath in the galaxy ,and who knows how far his reign of terror would expand had he not died aboard the Death Star.
