3. Kylo Ren

As the son of Leia Organa and Han Solo, there’s every reason to believe that Ben Solo would be a great leader in the New Republic. Instead, he became another despot in the history of a galaxy filled with despots. His longing to be needed, to live up to his grandfather’s name, his anger, it all consumed him until it came to a breaking point with Luke, which he used as an excuse to turn on the Jedi Order. Kylo Ren is a dark Force-user without a true master, thus making him more of a wild dog than a finely tuned weapon.

That wild dog can cause massive damage though as is the case with what Kylo does to everything around him. He kills his father, is part of the destruction of five planets and their inhabitants, helps lead the destruction of the Resistance, and even kills his own master.

There’s no rhyme or reason to what Kylo does except for what benefits him in the moment, as he is completely driven by his emotions. It’s what makes him such a fun character to watch. It’s nearly impossible to fully understand what he will do. His emotions run wild, which is fitting for a someone on the Dark Side, but he can never keep them in check. Unlike those he wants to emulate, he doesn’t have any true purpose, but his goal is to find one, which is what makes him an excellent character.
