15. Wakandan fight scene

Movie: Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Thanos was coming for the Mind Stone. If that wasn’t bad enough, the stone was in Vision’s head and keeping him alive. With this in mind (pun intended), Vision was taken to Wakanda. This was the best place to protect him. The heroes soon find out that Vision wasn’t safe anywhere.

Thankfully, Thor, Rocket, and Groot appeared before things got even more out of control. Just as things were looking good, Thanos shows up. He rips the Mind Stone out of Vision’s head thus completing the Infinity Gauntlet. Thor had a chance to kill Thanos, but, as we saw, Thor should have gone for the head.

Why it ranks as one of the greatest fight scenes from this decade’s superhero movies

What made this particular fight special were the moments which occurred during it. Okoye asking why Wanda wasn’t fighting this entire time was funny. Thor making a grand entrance was exciting. Steve Rogers physically standing up to Thanos was inspiring. Then, there’s the ending.

Everyone turning to dust is one of the saddest moments in a comic book movie. Everyone brings up Spider-Man fading away. Let’s not forget Okoye seeing T’Challa float away or Rocket almost crying when Groot faded away were both just as tragic. The action was good. Particularly in a fight with so many combatants. That said, this fight scene doesn’t make the list without those small moments.
