13. Superman reborn

Movie: Justice League (2017)

If the world was going to be saved, the Justice League would need Superman. The problem here is that Superman died fighting Doomsday (Doomsday is being used loosely). They found a way to bring him back from the dead to help defeat Steppenwolf. Like anyone who was brought back from the dead (Buffy the Vampire Slayer for example), Superman was disoriented. When Cyborg lost control of his suit and took a shot at Superman, Supes went into attack mode and we found out what it would look like if this version of Superman lost control.

Superman beat everyone and with little effort. Then, Batman got involved. Superman was NOT happy to see him. Why would he? The last time he was alive Batman was trying to kill him.  Superman grabbed Batman by his jaw and said, “You won’t let me live…you won’t let me die.” Superman’s last comment to Batman. “Tell me…do you bleed?” was a great callback. You have to love the way he threw that line back in Batman’s face.

Why it ranks as one of the greatest fight scenes from this decade’s superhero movies

This was a fight no one knew they needed to see. Bringing Superman back from the dead without a conflict would have been weird. Also, the fight not only showed how strong Superman really is, but how fast he is as well. Watching Superman catch Flash’s eyes as he was running was great. This added to the story and made his arrival at the end more satisfying.
