It won’t be long until DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns to our screens, but just when does its long-awaited fifth season premiere?

It’s been a long winter without the fun of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

The Arrowverse’s wacky adventure series has been off the air for quite some time, as the show completed its fourth season in late May last year. While Arrowverse counterparts ArrowThe Flash and Supergirl all returned for their new seasons – and newcomer Batwoman debuted its first – in the fall, it has remained off our screens.

Fear not, however, as the show has not been cancelled because The CW has been simply holding its return until midseason, and thankfully that time is almost upon us.

And, in spite of the fact that Legends of Tomorrow hasn’t been on our screens lately, that didn’t stop us from catching up with the Legends themselves, as Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) appeared in the first three parts of the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover – alongside an alternate version of Mick Rory (Heat Wave) and even an A.I. version of Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller). That being said, it’s time for Legends to return.

The season premiere of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is a tricky one. Although The CW is airing a special episode of the show alongside Arrow on January 14, as the concluding part of Crisis On Infinite Earths (Part 5), the official Season 5 premiere (titled “Meet The Legends”) follows the week after, debuting on Jan. 21. The season will then consist of 15 episodes (16 if you include the Crisis special).

Thus, even though the Legends can get back to the year’s worth of off-the-wall antics towards the end of the month, don’t forget to tune into the last two installments of Crisis to see how our beloved outcasts and misfits help in saving the multiverse.
