DC TV stays strong on The CW with their superhero lineup being among the 13 shows renewed for the 2020-2021 TV season.

Good news, DC fans! The start of the new decade has been marked with early renewals for DC TV’s lineup on The CW. Black Lightning, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, and Legends of Tomorrow are set to continue their journeys beyond their currently airing and upcoming seasons.

EW reports that the network has also renewed all of its returning series including Riverdale, Dynasty, Legacies, All American, Roswell New Mexico, Charmed, In the Dark, and Nancy Drew. And Katy Keene,  a spin-off of Riverdale, has gotten an additional order of 13 scripts for its freshman season ahead of its February 6 premiere.

According to The CW Television Network President Mark Pedowitz:

"These early orders for next season give our production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and a jump on hiring staff, and this also provides us with a strong foundation of established, fan-favorite CW shows to build on for next season. We’ve been thrilled with the creative direction of all three new series, and even though we are in the very early stages of our new full stack streaming strategy, which allows viewers to catch up on our new shows from the beginning, we’re already seeing incredibly positive results from our multiplatform viewership for Nancy Drew and Batwoman."

The head start Pedowitz mentions will surely be needed for the Arrowverse. Crisis on Infinite Earths reaches its conclusion Tuesday, January 14 and with it will come changes that affect The CW’s DC TV forever.

Each show will be dealing with the fallout from Crisis in their current airing seasons, but the aftermath is set to reverberate for far longer than the back half of a season. With Green Arrow and the Canaries–and a Superman and Lois series– potentially on the horizon, fans are waiting to see what direction this universe moves in without Oliver Queen in the mix.

More from Arrowverse

My bet is on a female focus thanks to Marc Guggenheim’s comments on Crisis: Aftermath. He revealed that in the coming years Kate and Kara will be replacing the bond that introduced and sustained the cross-overs since the beginning of the Arrowverse: Barry and Oliver’s friendship. Superbat stepping up to form the Arrowverse’s new core dynamic is sure to bring a different perspective and vibe to this beloved universe.

Dare we hope for an all-women crossover? A fan can dream.
