Black Panther: 10 fun facts that will blow your mind
10. War Dogs
In the Black Panther comics, the Hatut Zeraze (translated to Dogs of War) was a group of assassins and spies that operated within Wakanda as the nation’s version of Black Ops before they disbanded. The comics version wore a white uniform resembling the Black Panther habit.
However, in the film, the group is like Wakanda’s version of the FBI. Nakia, T’Challa’s on-off love interest, serves as a spy. Nakia’s work as a spy and desire to help the world has keeps absent in both Infinity War and Endgame. We were never told whether she got blipped, so it will be interesting to see if they address her absence in the upcoming sequel.
In regard to Nakia and her duties, it would also be interesting to see her working at the Wakandan Outreach Center that was set up at the end of the first film. It was clear that Ryan Coogler and Marvel Studios purposely set this plot point at the end of the film to tease how things will progress with Wakanda’s relationship to the rest of the world in a future film. We also know that Shuri was assigned to the tech department, so this could help establish Nakia and her role.
Hopefully, we learn just how much of a role the War Dogs and Nakia play in keeping Wakanda safe in the second film, which, again could heavily involve the outreach center. But we’re just spitballing as no plot details have been revealed for Black Panther II.
