Crisis On Infinite Earths finale preview: Legends of Tomorrow to save the multiverse?
As DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns, Crisis On Infinite Earths concludes, so just what kind of role are all of the Legends set to play in the crossover’s grand finale?
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow‘s fifth season will feature a prologue of sorts – and that prologue will be the final installment of this season’s huge Arrowverse crossover Crisis On Infinite Earths.
Yes, the show will officially kick off Season 5 next week, but before that, it will return for a special installment (immediately following Arrow) in order to bring the Crisis to a close, and stop the Anti-Monitor’s plan once and for all.
So far, the first three episodes have seen The Monitor and Harbinger gather the heroes of the Arrowverse together in a bid to stop the antimatter wave destined to wipe out the multiverse. From there, they learned that seven Paragons – Supergirl, The Flash, White Canary, J’onn J’onzz, Lex Luthor and newcomer Ryan Choi – would be capable of stopping the villainous Anti-Monitor.

Though the Big Bad wiped out the entire multiverse, Pariah successfully sent the seven Paragons to safety – teleporting them to the Vanishing Point, where they have been left to fend for themselves. However, Oliver’s resurrection of sorts as The Spectre in the Arrow installment might give them the answers they need.
So far, the Crisis has introduced multiple Legends, as Sara Lance/White Canary and Ray Palmer/The Atom have been at the forefront of the narrative, while John Constantine was rather prevalent in the third installment when resurrected Oliver. We’ve also met another version of Mick Rory and even been introduced an A.I. version of Leonard Snart/Captain Cold.

As each installment so far has placed emphasis on the hero of each respective show – and with that trend set to continue with Oliver’s return in the Arrow offering – the Legends will likely headline the final episode. Thus, it’s looking likely that they will somehow utilize time travel in order to save some of the earths in the multiverse.
On that note, the newly-released promo pics do indeed showcase some of the heroes – Legends included – after having restored at least one earth. The question is: Which one?
If you’re looking for another snippet, check out The CW’s official synopsis for “Crisis On Infinite Earths, Part Five”:
"THE EARTH-SHATTERING “CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS” CROSSOVER CONCLUDES – “Worlds lived, worlds died. Nothing will ever be the same.” Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Keto Shimizu and Ubah Mohamed."
Certainly a cryptic synopsis designed to give nothing away, but if we can deduce anything from it, it’s that Legends of Tomorrow is going to be more intense than ever as it has the tall task of concluding Crisis On Infinite Earths, so you shouldn’t be surprised if the Legends end up using their unorthodox methods to either stop the Anti-Monitor or save the souls of those lost earths – or both.
Literally anything could happen but whatever does, nothing will ever be the same.
Crisis On Infinite Earths concludes tonight, January 14, on The CW, beginning with Arrow at 8:00 p.m. ET which will then be followed by a special episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. ET. Are you excited to see how the Crisis ends? Let us know in the comments below!
