Arrow season 8, episode 10 preview: How does it all end for Oliver Queen?
Arrow’s series finale is almost upon us, and it has fans wondering how the Arrowverse’s originator will bid us all farewell.
It’s hard to believe that Arrow is almost set to bid us adieu. The CW superhero series first burst onto our screens back in 2012, once again making TV superheroes as awe-inspiring as their big screen counterparts.
In the years that followed, it built a shared universe of heroes so revered that it’s rightfully considered the greatest – and most ambitious – shared universe to ever grace the small screen (and perhaps even the big one too).
The show’s final season saw the Emerald Archer Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) take on one final mission, as he, John Diggle (David Ramsey), Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) and the rest of Team Arrow attempted to assist The Monitor in his quest to save the multiverse from complete destruction.
They all accomplished that in Crisis On Infinite Earths – the five-part crossover with Supergirl, The Flash, Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow which saw Oliver sacrifice himself to defeat the Anti-Monitor and rebuild the multiverse that he had destroyed. And now – a week after the backdoor pilot episode for Green Arrow and The Canaries – some of Arrow‘s most familiar and beloved faces will gather to pay their respects to the Green Arrow.
Check out the episode’s trailer below:
It’s understandable that fans are feeling melancholic about the whole thing; not only will they be bidding Oliver farewell, they’ll be waving goodbye to the beloved show as “Fadeout” will indeed serve as Arrow‘s series finale.

With returning faces such as Oliver’s sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), his mother Moira Queen (Susanna Thompson), his young son William Clayton (Jack Moore), his close friends and partners Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) and Rory Regan (Joe Dinicol), longtime ally Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson) and, of course, The Flash himself Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), it’s safe to say that the writers have gone all out to make the final bow a memorable one.
It will also feature the return of Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak – who will come face to face with the adult version of her daughter Mia Smoak-Queen (Katherine McNamara) for the very first time (in the present day).
One last little tidbit – check out The CW’s official synopsis for the series finale “Fadeout” below:
"STEPHEN AMELL SIGNS OFF AS THE GREEN ARROW; EMILY BETT RICKARDS RETURNS FOR THE SERIES FINALE OF “ARROW” – After eight seasons, and the launch of countless superheroes, the series wraps up the story of the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell). Emily Bett Rickards returns as Felicity. James Bamford directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Beth Schwartz (#810). Original airdate 1/28/2020."
Before the show bows out, The CW will broadcast an hour-long retrospective Arrow: Hitting The Bullseye which will reflect on the show’s seven-year history and how Season 8 set up its long-awaited finale. That will then be followed by Arrow‘s final ever episode.
It’s not about the ending, it’s about the journey. And what a heck of a journey Arrow has been. With that in mind, we should all prepare ourselves for the finale – because it’s going to be an emotional one!
Arrow will air its final ever episode on The CW tonight, Jan. 28, at 9:00 p.m. ET (following the Hitting The Bullseye retrospective). What do you think will happen? Are you sad at the thought of it ending? Let us know in the comments below!
