12. Iron Fist

Marvel’s Iron Fist was one of the six Marvel TV shows that Marvel TV put out on Netflix. After Daredevil, Jessica Jones and the first half of Luke Cage, it looked like Marvel was going to have another hit on their hands. Especially considering how popular and fun Danny Rand is in the comics, on top of his cool and brightly colored Iron Fist powers. Well, the star was the worst character on the show, the first season was so slow, it sometimes felt like watching paint dry, and we didn’t have a reason to care about the villain. It was just a mess.

The star of your show can’t be outshined by 90% of the cast. Colleen Wing, Misty Knight, and Ward Meachum were all better characters than Danny. Look at season 2. Mary Walker (played by Alive Eve) may have been the best character in both seasons and she was only in one of them.

The worst part were the Iron Fist’s powers. It took over a season and a half to see someone using the Iron Fist in a cool way. It was either break a wall or punch the ground. By the time they started getting creative, the series was canceled.

We’ll never get to see Colleen Wing use her Iron Fist sword or Danny shoot more chi bullets. The only redeemable thing is that season two found a balance: They found a way to cater to Danny’s strength and put him in a position to be a good character. Too bad it was too late to fix the mistakes.
