7. The Punisher

The Punisher was given a chance to shine in season two of Daredevil and shine he did. Two seasons and he knocked both of them out of the park. We got to see a side of Frank Castle that people didn’t know existed. The caring side.

Frank helped Micro’s family when he didn’t have to. He was there for Amy until the very end and got revenge for her as well. Frank even had a chance to kill Pilgrim and he didn’t, despite everything he put him and Amy through. These moments showed that he wasn’t just some random killer.

You could argue that Punisher had the best acting as well. Obviously, Jon Bernthal rocked, but Amber Rose Revah (Dinah Madani), Josh Stewart (John Pilgrim), and Giorgia Whigham (Amy Bendix) were all standouts. Yes, Dinah was annoying. The thing people don’t recognize is that she was supposed to be.

The acting and depth of the series was important to the show, but this is The Punisher. The action had to be there. You could watch certain scenes a dozen times and get the same, “OH SNAP” reaction every time. However, it wasn’t violent just for the sake of violence. The action scenes were well placed and appropriate. You’d see Frank use extreme measures when he had to. This show isn’t for everyone, but it was still better than most.
