Birds of Prey is becoming a hit amongst fans and critics. With this, DC and Warner Bros. should seriously consider greenlighting a sequel, and here are five reasons why. Spoilers ahead.

Birds of Prey is a spin-off movie of Suicide Squad, a movie that did well at the box office but was not the critical hit DC and Warner Bros. were hoping for. However, Margot Robbie’s portrayal of Harley Quinn was the one positive fans and detractors of Suicide Squad could agree on. With this, Warner Bros. gave Robbie the opportunity to produce and star in a film centered on her iconic character.

Birds of Prey was a gamble, one that capitalized on the popularity of Robbie’s Harley Quinn, and it was a gamble that paid off, with director Cathy Yan in charge of a movie that currently sits certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes at 83%.

While we’ll still have to wait for the final box office numbers to come in, it wouldn’t be surprising if Warner Bros. and DC consider during a second installment in the franchise. Sequels and comic book movies are not strangers to each other, and there are five good reasons why a Birds of Prey sequel should be greenlit.
