1. Lois Lane and Clark Kent (Several TV shows, films, and comic books)

The relationship between Lois Lane and Clark Kent transcends all forms of media. They are one of the most iconic superhero couples of all time and there isn’t a series, film, or comic book that feels wrong when featuring these two together. Like actors who have portrayed Batman, everyone has “their” Lois Lane and Clark Kent.

From Margot Kidder and Christopher Reeve to Elizabeth Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin and everywhere in between, there is an iteration of this couple that has helped define what it means to be in a relationship with someone else.

Whether it be them as a couple just starting out, or seeing them as married with kids, we have seen Superman—who is literally super (it’s in his name)—and Lois Lane—who is one of the greatest reports we’ve ever seen—get to be 100% completely human when it comes to dating or parenting.

At one point in our lives, we’ve all either wanted to be like Superman or date someone like him. They are the very definition of what a strong couple (and strong superhero couples) can be when working together and going against the biggest odds.

What to watch or read this Valentine’s Day: There are so. many. options. It’s nearly impossible to pick just one thing, but what stands out at this very moment are two things: 1978’s Superman and 1993’s (to 1997) Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
