WandaVision

There are honestly too many theories to count when it comes to this show. Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen reprise their roles as Wanda Maximoff and Vision, respectively. During the events of Infinity War, Vision was killed by Thanos after the Mad Titan ripped out his life source, the Mind Stone.

But as far as the show goes, it seems to be drawing from various sitcom motifs, from the black and white of the ’50s to the bright colors of the ’70s. Interestingly, in one time period, we see two cribs with two pacifiers popping in the air. Could this be the couple’s children, Speed and Wiccan, perhaps? It would be great to see Young Avengers make a canon appearance on the show.

Things get even weirder as the teaser cuts to a 1960s TV featuring an old-fashioned-looking Wanda on the screen picking up the phone and cheerfully saying “Vision Residence!”. It then immediately cuts to a more modern backdrop with Wanda in color and Vision in black and white, with the two trying to reach for each other. Could it be that Wanda is somehow creating the life she wanted to have with Vision and it’s rapidly falling apart at a rate she can’t control?

So if Wanda really is potentially creating this new reality, let’s backtrack. Wanda gets her powers from the power source that created Vision… and Ultron. Why you may ask? Ultron was powered by the Mind Stone as well, so when Wanda turned Ultron on (right before she saw annihilation in his mind), he seemed emotionally upset. Did Ultron have some emotional attachment to the Scarlet Witch? Ultron was clearly hurt when Wanda turned against him and sided with the Avengers, which is weird for a machine, right?

If you paid close attention during the third act of Age of Ultron, Ultron and Vision have a conversation during which Ultron says, “My vision… they really have taken everything from me.” And the interesting fact is that part of Ultron still lives within Vision. Before he died, it’s possible that Ultron stored all of the information and knowledge he gained in a machine that wasn’t one of his drones; the same could be said for Vision before his death Infinity War. One can’t help but think that there is something is up with that connection.

The show also seems to be serving as the Sentient World Observation and Response Department’s (SWORD) formal MCU introduction. SWORD is essentially the space version of SHIELD, which is what some fans speculated is what we saw when Nick Fury was seen relaxing on a massive space ship in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home. And guess what’s even more fun? Ms. Monica Rambeau (played by Teyonah Parris) appears to be an agent for SWORD. I’m not saying this show is about to get wild but something tells me it is. Although, it’s still anyone’s guess as to how Rambeau and this cosmic organization factor into this reality-warping show.
