What can you expect of the movie?
In addition to an interesting story, we can probably describe what you should expect of Bloodshot in two simple words: action and gore.
The Bloodshot comics are absolutely teeming with both of those things, and that should translate brilliantly to the big screen – especially given that the movie will be R-rated.
Both the lead character and the series in general are ruthless. There’ll be gunfire, explosions, punching, kicking and a heck of a lot of blood.
Vin Diesel is a king of the action movie genre, so he should revel in the role (and getting to say more than “I am Groot” in a comic book movie will surely come as a refreshing change to the star).
Pretty much everything Diesel does is action-based – The Fast and the Furious, The Chronicles of Riddick, XXX and The Last Witch Hunter, just to give a few examples – so if anyone’s going to nail the escapades of Ray Garrison, it’s him.
Expect a lot of threatening dialogue, delivered in Diesel’s instantly recognizable, lazy deep tone.
As for the gore, it’s something we’re starting to become a little more accustomed to in superhero movies. We’ve been there before with the Blade trilogy and, more recently, with the Deadpool movies and Logan, so it won’t be anything new – but the level of gore in Bloodshot might be even more extreme than the aforementioned superhero offerings.
Expect severed appendages, torn flesh, gaping wounds, a lot of blood splatter and more.
