What happens next?

The “in thing” right now in Hollywood is the concept of the cinematic universe. Marvel is doing it, DC is doing, Legendary is doing it with their MonsterVerse and Universal attempted it with the Dark Universe, just to give a few examples – and there’s every chance Bloodshot could lead to another one being established, assuming it’s a success.

It would, of course, be based on the characters and stories in Valiant Comics and, in Bloodshot’s case, that could ultimately result in the formation of a very interesting super team.

In the comic books, Unity is a global law enforcement team made up of superpowered operatives who are tasked with protecting humanity from top-secret threats.

They work as agents of the Global Agency for Threat Excision – known as G.A.T.E. for short – and act under the direction of both U.S. and U.K. intelligence.

Since their first appearance back in 2013, the team’s members have included the likes of Eternal Warrior (an immortal warrior), X-O Manowar (a barbarian in an advanced suit of armour), Livewire (a psionic technopath), Ninjak (a ninja), Toyo Harada (a telepath and telekinetic) and, of course, Bloodshot himself.

Don’t be surprised, therefore, to see some worldbuilding take place in Bloodshot – perhaps in the classic form of a post-credits scene – which may hint towards more movies and either the on-screen assembling of Unity or the introduction of another of the team’s members.

Get excited for Bloodshot – it should be a riot!
