This Sunday night, The Walking Dead returns to AMC for its midseason premiere. The long-running zombie drama is in the midst of its tenth season, and after some time off our screens, it’s officially back.
The Walking Dead first debuted on the cable network all the way back in 2010 and followed the escapades of sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as he attempted to get used to a world in which the dead had risen – all while realizing that it was the living he also needed to fear.
Though Rick is no longer part of the show, he carried much of it for nine seasons, making new allies, friends and enemies as he attempted to traverse the post-apocalyptic world and get his pack of survivors to safety.

And now, a select amount of those survivors – such as Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) – are trying to carry on that legacy so-to-speak, as they too attempt to survive in this brave not-so-new world.
Its 10th season focuses on the gang’s war against the Whisperers – something that will no doubt continue to impact the season as it returns.
