4. Betty Tells Archie To Lie To His Mother

One moment that none of us saw coming was when Archie was about to open up to his mother Mary Andrews, only to receive a call from Betty. While that was understandable given the circumstances, we soon discovered that Betty was actually watching Archie from her own house and warned her red-headed friend not to say anything.

Yes, it seems that when she was busy placing bugs in Stonewall Prep, she also made some time to place them in her best friend’s house too. And, as a result, we were all beginning to doubt Riverdale’s former good girl.

3. Charles Helps Betty Remember

With all crashing down around her, Betty turned to her FBI brother for support, as Charles Smith used his expertise to help her come up with unique methods of evading suspicion. Naturally, she benefited a great deal from this, as it taught her how to pretend that she was just as stressed about Jughead’s disappearance as everyone else.

However, his expertise really came into play when he helped her remember what Donna did to her, and in that moment it was revealed that the Stonewall Prep student had blown “Devil’s Breath” powder in her face, rendering her completely unconscious for minutes on-end – something that would’ve made it impossible for her to kill Jughead.
