Katy Keene season 1, episodes 3 and 4 review: What Becomes of the Sun
Katy Keene and KO reach a crossroads in their relationship; Josie learns the true nature of Alex and Xandra’s relationship; and Jorge meets someone new.
Hey there Upper East Siders (or where you’re actually from -iders), the love lives of Katy Keene & Co. have taken quite the turn. We’ve got a lot of tea to spill, so let’s get to it.
Katy and KO’s relationship is tested when KO moves into the already-cramped apartment, causing tension between them and Josie and Jorge that reaches a boiling point… literally. Plus, Jorge grows frustrated when his closeted boyfriend Buzz continues to bail on meeting his friends and Ginger.
Here’s a look at all the relationship drama from “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted” and “Here Comes The Sun.”
Meant To Be or Not To Be?
Not to be, as it turns out. When Katy suggest she and KO move into an apartment of their own to resolve the roommate drama, KO questions if she really wants to. Katy reluctantly admits they’re “growing apart” and should break up. KO says he’ll aways love her and Katy says he’ll always be her “first love.”
Time heals all wounds, as they say, but never as quickly as we’d like. Still struggling to regain a sense of normalcy, Katy runs into KO and finds out he quit Molly’s Crisis as a courtesy to her, so she wouldn’t have to see him all the time — though he’s not exactly winning the break-up, either, noting Katy’s choice has made him “miserable.”
Cabot vs. Cabot vs. McCoy
For everyone who’s been wondering what kind of parents would give their children matching names or what kind of brother would give his sister a present for Valentine’s Day (let alone a silk robe), we finally have the answer: Alexander and Alexandra are exes and step-siblings.

It’s still a bit icky, of course, and very enlightening for Josie, who storms out of a business meeting with Alex’s father because she’s done being used as a pawn in Alex and Xandra’s feud.
As it happens, Mr. Cabot is actually impressed by Josie’s “fiery” exit and offers to take a chance and bankroll her debut EP. Then, he’ll decide whether to reopen the record label.
But there’s a catch. He’ll pay for her EP if, and only if, she dates Alex. Josie and Alex had agreed to keep things professional, but can Josie really afford to pass up a chance at what could be her big break?
What A Man Gotta Do
When the apartment accidentally catches fire, Jorge meets a flirtatious fireman and soon calls it quits with Buzz, realizing he deserves someone who will show up for him. Ginger then asks out the fireman, Bernardo, who eagerly accepts.
But the new couple bliss doesn’t last long when Jorge’s old insecurities about his masculinity crop up, making him defensive. Jorge eventually opens up to Bernardo, admitting he’s never felt masculine enough for his dad, and apologizes for taking it out on Bernardo.
Bernardo reassures Jorge that he likes him for exactly who he is. With his confidence restored, Jorge confronts his dad about his disparaging remarks.
