This Wednesday night, a new episode of Riverdale airs on The CW. The show recently made a comeback after a week’s break and now it presents another offering.
The town of Riverdale is no stranger to dark happenings. Over the past three years, some terrible events have taken place in that very town, as the show is a darker spin on the Archie Comics. In fact, the town has been called “the murder capital of the world” on both spin-offs Katy Keene and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
No event, however, was as shocking as what happened last week. Yes, after a half-season full of teasing flash-forwards, the show revealed that Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) appears to be dead after all.

Girlfriend Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) initially appeared to be the culprit, but after some investigating – with the help of Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) – she discovered that the person who may have been responsible was Stonewall Prep student Donna Sweett (Sarah Desjardins).
Betty is clearly upset at the loss of her beloved boyfriend, but that’s not going to stop her from getting revenge on all of the Stonewall students, especially Donna – who she warned to watch her back last week.
With Jughead’s funeral coming up in the next episode, it’s sure going to be an emotional one.
